Today we are excited to announce that Ellen Burling, most recently Assistant General Manager, is the new General Manager of Lake Geneva Cruise Line! As General Manager, Ellen will be responsible for the year-round daily operations and overseeing a staff of 130 full-time and seasonal employees.
For Ellen, it all began when she started working as a ticket seller. She then was promoted to tour guide and then the coveted mail jumper position while in college. After being a mail jumper for only one season due to an injury, she continued to work for the Cruise Line in the office. Later, she was hired as a full-time employee in 1986 after graduating from UW Stevens Point and has worked here ever since!
“Being a part of the Gage family of businesses and leading the cruise line division is something I have been a part of for more than half of my life. I look forward to continuing that legacy and bringing some new ideas to the role,” said Ellen Burling.
“Ellen’s hard work and loyalty to the company over the past forty years has been outstanding,” said Bill Gage, Jr., third-generation owner of Gage Marine Corporation, parent company to Lake Geneva Cruise Line. “Over the years moving from mail jumper to General Manager shows her dedication and passion for this company. This promotion is well deserved, and we are excited to see what she does next.”
Join us in congratulating Ellen on this much-deserved next step in her career!
